COURSE STRUCTURE

The ARC-ex Part 3 course runs once per calendar year, from Easter through the summer period. It comprises 14 fully online lecture days, a written examination completed in the candidate’s own office, and an online oral examination held in November. Lectures are scheduled on alternate Fridays, with some Saturdays used where additional content is delivered. Re-sit opportunities are available in late February, July, and December. Assessment is staged across the year, with key submissions and examinations scheduled as follows:

  • The Lecture Course

    The lecture course starts around Easter and runs for fourteen weeks, with one online lecture per week.

  • Written Examinations

    These take place in September and consist of two open-book written papers completed in your office over the course of one working day.

  • Submissions Date

    Case Study, CV and Career Evaluation, PEDRs are submitted Mid-October.

  • Oral Examinations

    These take place online via Teams in late November.

The course delivers all required content, and more, as prescribed by the Architects Registration Board to meet the criteria for Part 3 qualification.

In addition to the core lecture programme, ARC-ex offers optional private tuition for candidates who wish to further develop specific areas of knowledge or receive additional targeted support beyond the standard course delivery.
